LUKE Dickens and Luke Austen are in the middle of their epic journey across Australia from Tamworth to Perth, playing towns and cities and raising awareness and funds for Camp Quality and the Newborn Intensive Care Foundation.

Dickens rose to fame on Australian Idol and was runner-up to Wes Carr. Since then he has been to Nashville, LA, Afghanistan and Egypt performing his Johnny Cash, dirty-rock country music.

This time he is with best mate Luke Austen, who spent 10 years on the road with Troy Casser-Daly.

In January, he took home two Golden Guitars for his debut album Light of Day.

Both are recipients of the Toyota Star Maker Award, which put the likes of Keith Urban on the map. The Cross the Country Tour comes to the Ravenswood Hotel this Friday.
