Eat Greek

Comments:

SITUATED on the boardwalk with the scent of Greek cuisine in the air and views of the Swan River, is Eat Greek. a restaurant that introduces diners to the wonders of the Mediterranean.

Linen tablecloths adorn the tables and the air is charged with the chatter of other diners, giving it the homely feel of a big Greek family feast.

The buffet-style dining of this restaurant enables guests to experience a taste of everything.

Cold salads such as the traditional Greek salad, seafood,  cabbage and octopus salads and dolmades (stuffed vine leaves) offer the perfect way to get the palate ready for the hot food selection.

Seafood fans will relish the salt and pepper calamari, grilled prawns and mussels, while those looking for something heartier can enjoy options such as lemon chicken, roast lamb, Mediterranean vegetables, spare ribs and much more.

Diners come away from Eat Greek with a lot more than full bellies, as traditional dishes such as moussaka (sauteed eggplant and tomatoes), the cinnamony goodness of pastitio (Greek lasagne), uvetsi (lamb with rice noodles) and zouzoukakia (Greek meatballs) all offer an education in what has made the Greek cuisine an international favourite.

Be sure to leave some room for the separate dessert buffet, because this is one not to be missed.

Baklava, brandy pudding, chocolate mousse, rizogalo (Greek rice pudding) and much more is enough to make guests consider skipping the mains altogether, while my fellow diner couldn’t have been more enchanted with the self-serve soft-serve ice-cream machine.

In true Grecian style, the extensive wine and beer selection is the perfect complement to the meal.

Visit on Fridays and youcan enjoy the Mezethes-style lunch, offering  tasty morsels of everything.

For a catch-up meal with family and friends or an intimate evening with a special someone, be sure to put Eat Greek on the top of the ‘go to’ list this autumn.
