A NEW local shopping guide for the western suburbs was launched in Nedlands last month.
The newest addition to the Urban Walkabout pocket map series known as the Claremont, Cottesloe and western suburbs guide features new and outstanding retailers to encourage residents to shop locally.
Perth manager Georgie Strain said the western suburbs had an amazing mix of retailers she wanted to share with the public in a special way.
“People open up the guides and they’re inspired. It’s something you want to keep,” Ms Strain said.
“The guide says, ‘look, this is where the shops are’. People want to find this stuff and this enables them to do that.”
Annie P Paperie owner Bob Poolman said he was excited to have his Claremont shop recognised in the new guide.
“They choose smaller, more passionate shops and it creates a sense of camaraderie among businesses in the area,” he said.
Urban Walkabout also publishes shopping guides for the CBD and Mt Lawley, with a guide for Leederville and Subiaco to come soon.
Guides are available from participating businesses and tourist information booths in Perth. Visit www.urbanwalkabout.com.
