SOUTH Perth athlete Sarah Watson is diving for her dreams.

The specialist 1m and 3m springboard diver will move to England for the next two months in a bid to hone her blossoming skills.

Miss Watson (18), who recently competed in the national championships in Adelaide, is confident the intensive training in London will sharpen her performance.

“Diving is limited in Perth, there aren’t enough facilities and we don’t attract many events,” she said.

“It is really big in the UK and I hope to compete in some senior events there. I hope to learn new dives and come back with new skills.”

The former Penrhos College student said her long-term dream was to represent her country.

“I have represented WA and my dream would be to go a step further and compete for Australia,” she said.

“To compete in a Commonwealth Games or the Olympics would be the ultimate.”
