FOUR players from the Peel Thunderbirds played in the AFL U18 Youth Girls National Champions team in Adelaide at the weekend.

Chloe Taylor, Sabrina Traub, Emma Swanson and Rakita Bennell – the cousin of Pinjarra-raised Harley Bennell now playing for the Gold Coast Suns – are all part of the team Under 18 team.

WA narrowly missed making the grand final despite a 97-point win over Victoria Development in their third game of the tournament.

After a win and a loss in their first two games, Team WA focused on booting a huge score in their third game to build percentage and gain a grand final berth.

Unfortunately, for WA it came down to less than a goal, with Queensland securing a place in the grand final on percentage.

Selection to play on the All Australian team went to Peel Thunderbirds players Chloe Taylor and Kira Philips.
