Healthy look at food labelling

AN interactive seminar in Subiaco this week will provide locals with more insight into the sometimes puzzling world of food labelling.

Organised by the Heart Foundation, with support from the City of Subiaco, the seminar will feature dietitian Sharonna Freeman explaining the foundation’s “tick” program and how to make better decisions about food at the check out.

“The tick represents choices that are lower in certain food components like saturated fat and sodium or higher in others such as fibre compared to other foods in the same category, Essentially, it is a healthier choice,” Ms Freeman said.

Those attending will also receive a three-course lunch designed to meet the program.

Places at the seminar are $10 each and bookings with the City can be made on 9237 9222.
